Supporting Small Businesses
Let us all support small businesses! Why? Well… just this past Saturday, our nation celebrated a little known holiday: Small Business Saturday. It is an American holiday that is held on the last Saturday in November, after Thanksgiving. The idea is to shop small businesses, as these are the backbone of our nation. Small business Saturday encourages holiday shoppers to patronize brick and mortar businesses that are small and local. In 2010, it was made an official holiday with a hashtag! #smallbusinesssaturday or #smallbizsaturday.
What could be better than to promote a local business in Lakeville called: Music on the Farm?! Music teacher Debbie McBride has been bringing children and adults to her local farm to teach music for over 20 years. She teaches anything strings which includes: piano, guitar (acoustic, electric, bass), Violin, Viola, Cello, Mandolin, Banjo, Ukulele, Dulcimer and Drums. You name it! So many students have come to study with Debbie in Lakeville, from age 5 to 75: Music lessons on a farm! How fun and unique would that be?!
On her farm, Debbie has 4 peacocks, 2 white ones and the other are the traditional blue/green ones. She literally has peacocks on her porch. Then, there is Bo the goat, a few lambs and if you listen very carefully, you will hear the mourning dove. These are just some of the animals on Debbie’s farm in Lakeville. The children, especially, love coming to learn music with Debbie and getting to feed the goat, lambs and peacocks too after their lessons! What could be better? Music on the Farm!
I have photographed many facilities and personal portraits for LinkedIn, business cards, your on-line newsletter, latest autobiography, or even facebook profile pictures. In order to promote your local business, I capture you in your own environment, your most authentic self, just like Debbie here with her Music on the Farm.
